Shelly Rivoli is a San Francisco Bay Area photographer and writer, and the proud mom of three kind, curious, and creative kids.

The Photographer – Shelly Rivoli’s travel photography and photojournalism have been published in newspapers, magazines and books on four continents. Some of her North American credits include the National Geographic Daily Dozen, LA Times, Westways Magazine, Texas Journey and the Conde Nast Special Commemorative Issue Rise Up! The Women’s Marches Around The World where her photo from San Francisco was the two-page opening spread.
The Writer – Shelly’s travel writing has won several awards, including a Lowell Thomas Award in Travel Guidebooks and honorable mention in U.S. Travel Articles, two Solas Awards for Best Travel Writing from Travelers’ Tales Publishing, and multiple awards from the North American Travel Journalists Association. She’s currently writing & photographing the 1st edition Hiking with Kids Southern California (Rowman & Littlefield, spring 2023).
