As my new site comes together, I’m jumping in with a post of some of my most recent captures: photos from Friday’s Climate Strike March in San Francisco. (Full archive and downloads available here.)
San Francisco Climate Strike March Photos – 20th September, 2019
According to The Mercury News, an estimated 8,000 people arrived at the Federal Building on 7th Street, where the march began at 10:00 a.m. on September 20th.
After passing the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the crowd made way down Market Street, paying calls to the offices of PG&E and Bank of America, before ending near the Ferry Building.
Marchers were largely school-aged children and teens who had “walked out” on school classes for the day in order to call for action days before the Global Climate Summit. Credit: Shelly Rivoli
Yet there were marchers of all ages participating, from infants and toddlers in child carriers to concerned grandparents.
